ill title Recertification

If you  need to recertify this year, consult the official DOE recertification guidelines and this summary prepared by Barbara Bitgood for the NASE.

ill title Contract Negotiations

The NASE is now forming negotiating teams for each chapter.  Anyone interested should contact Sharon Carlson at scarlsonjfk at her gmail.com address.  Please include your name, school, and chapter.  The NASE is also looking for people from each chapter to serve on another chapter’s negotiating team.  For example, an ESP who also serves on the teacher negotiating team, so that any conflicts of interest can be identified as they occur.  The time commitment varies from contract to contract, but one could expect to attend a 2-3 hour meeting twice a month, with a bit more of a commitment as the two sides come close to an agreement and the final details need to be hammered out.
